| Description | The subject site is located within the construction zone Volosko-Opatija. It is situated in the area Baredina and bounded by the following streets: Rikard Katalinić Jeretov Street on the east, Putem uz Dol on the northwest, Nova cesta on the west. There is an access to transport and utilities infrastructure.
The existing Home for the Elderly Volosko-Opatija has 143 beds and is located in two separate buildings. “Lower building” is located in the center of Volosko. “Upper building”, which is located within the Volosko construction area across the “Lower building” and Štangerova Street, is scheduled for demolition. „Home for the Elderly Volosko" Opatija is planned at the same construction plateau. The basic and long-term goal is to mitigate the key problems of lack of accommodation facilities and the improvement of social and health care for the Elderly and disabled people within the framework of institutional and non-institutional care. The construction of “Home for the Elderly Volosko” would increase accommodation capacity in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County by 14% in comparison to the existing ones. Additionally, the construction of a new Home would increase the number of existing beds from the current 143 to approximately 400 beds. | |
